Description

The personal doctor of the Dalai Llama, Dr. Barry Kerzin, is an ordained Buddhist Monk, a physician, grew up in Hollywood, and happens to love hip-hop!

Dr. Kerzin’s non-profit organization, the Altruism in Medicine Institute (AIMI), teaches mindfulness practices to help build resilience and wellbeing in healthcare workers, teachers, and other essential but stressful professions. In 2022 and 2023, AIMI work with Event Rap to produce this colorful collection of videos about the benefits of mindfulness and compassion in the work environment, as a resource to foster healthy relationships and emotional hygene, and protect against employee burnout.

In the process, the artists learned all about the curriculum and philosophy taught by AIMI, which is based on Tibetan Buddhism practices, internalized the key messages, and distilled them into five original songs and videos, each with a different voice and focus.

These rap videos now come bundled in the AIMIcare App, available in the App Store as a mental health resource on the go.
