Description
Jonathan Haidt’s bestselling book “The Anxious Generation” was an instant bipartisan hit with parents, policy-makers, teachers, school administrators, and young people sick of social media’s addictive rat races and traps.
Jon and his team turned to Baba Brinkman and Event Rap to produce a collection of rap songs and videos to amplify the ideas and science in the book, as well as some of the related public policy campaigns. The music video “Hold Calls” was released in February 2025 and shared by Jon on LinkedIn and also on X (Twitter) and Baba also performed multiple ‘rap up’ recap summaries of virtual meetings and workshops discussing the book and advocating for the legislative changes inspired by the book’s research.
In March and April 2025, Event Rap ran a paid ad campaign to promote the video content and the campaign website to users who needed it most, targeting a “Parents of Teens” audience in the USA via mobile ads, directing viewers to “Learn More” at AnxiousGeneration.com. The campaign produced more than 1,1oo clicks with a spend of less than $250.
In May 2025, one of the book’s explicit legislative goals was achieved when Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a complete ban of internet-connected personal devices in New York schools statewide.
