ServiceNow WorldForum 2024

NewRocket’s Matt Lindenbaum was planning to attend the ServiceNow WorldForum to meet colleagues and build his network, but this year he wasn’t staffing a company booth, so how could he stand out from the rest of the foot-traffic at the event?

Matt’s ‘aha’ moment came when he saw Event Rap founder Baba Brinkman freestyle rapping at a gala fundraiser, so he invited Baba to be his wingman at WorldForum, introducing Baba to various individuals and teams from the ServiceNow ecosystem (shout out to the Implementers!), feeding him the key details of names and jobs and specializations, and saying to his surprised colleagues “you’re going to want to see this.”

After a brief introduction, Baba would play a beat on his portable speaker and perform a fully-improvised and personalized 1-2 minute freestyle rap about the individuals and teams he met, creating a series of rap vignettes that capture the spirit of the trade show, the attendees, and the key themes related to their recent projects and accomplishments.

Some of the raps were just for fun and some got into the details of ServiceNow’s technical wizardry and its many applications, but in each case the raps put smiles on faces and elevated the mood in each small group, and of course everyone we met had no trouble remembering Matt Lindenbaum, who unleashed a rapper on his unsuspecting colleagues at a tech conference, for both recreational and also strategic purposes.
